Tomy AFX Super G+Plus & SRT/Turbo

Wheels, Tires and Pickup Shoes are the first parts that should be replaced to improve your HO slot car's performance. Tomy AFX as well as all Aurora AFX chassis use .063 diameter axles in the rear. You must purchase wheels with the proper axle diameter to have them fit correctly.

I'm now offering a Super G+Plus Hop-Up Kit that uses several of the BSRT parts described below. It includes a set of BSRT Black Wheels, Silicone Tires and Copper Ski-Shoe Pickups. See the Tomy page for details. This kit will upgrade any Tomy SG+, Turbo or Super Racing Turbo (SRT) chassis for better performance.


BSRT Delrin Wheel Hubs

BSRT Delrin Wheel Hubs This set includes a pair of black Delrin double flanged rear wheel hubs. These wheel hubs will fit any Tomy AFX Super G+Plus or SRT/Turbo chassis. This is an excellent and economical way to improve the rear end on any Tomy AFX chassis.



BSRT Rear Silicone Tires

BSRT Rear Silicone Tires This set includes a pair of black Silicone compound tires. These tires when combined with the Delrin hubs above will provide an overall 0.440" diameter rear end. This is an excellent and economical way to improve the rear tires on any Tomy AFX chassis.



BSRT Ski-Shoe Pickups

BSRT Ski-Shoe Pickups This pair of BSRT-designed pickup shoes is the best design currently available for the Tomy AFX Super G+Plus or SRT/Turbo chassis. These pickup shoes have an enlarged contact patch to better conduct electrical current from your track's power rails.

Available in both copper and gold-plated versions.



BSRT Gold Electrical System Kit

BSRT Gold Electrical System Kit This kit includes an entire gold-plated electrical system for any Tomy AFX Super G+Plus or BSRT G3 chassis. Gold is an excellent conductor and will deliver more power to your HO slot car motor.

Included in the kit are gold-plated pickup shoes and springs, a gold-plated motor end bell and gold-plated pickup shoe holders.



BSRT Delrin Independent Front End

BSRT Delrin Independent Front End These front end kits includes a hardened steel front axle, a pair of Delrin front wheel hubs with matching O-ring tires and Delrin wheel retainers. This kit will convert your stock Tomy AFX Super G+Plus or SRT/Turbo chassis to a free wheeling front end.

Front wheels that turn independently will handle better when driving through a turn. The outside wheel is allowed to spin free of the inside wheel and prevents the car from tipping.



BSRT G3 High-Performance Chassis

BSRT G3 High-Performance Chassis BSRT also offers an improved chassis that accepts all of the parts found on a standard Tomy Super G+Plus chassis. The BSRT G3 chassis has been reinforced in all of those area that are the weakest on the standard Tomy chassis.

BSRT SG+/G3 Hot Motors

BSRT SG+/G3 Hot Motor BSRT makes a complete line of hot motors for the Tomy AFX Super G+Plus and G3 chassis. These motors have polished and diamond-trued commutators.

The motor windings are epoxied and then dynamically balanced for the last word in performance. Hot Stock motors are available for tracks using low-power set wall packs and Spinner models for tracks with high-output power supplies.



BSRT Hot "Can" Motors

BSRT Hot "Can" Motor BSRT also offers a line of hot Can motors for the Tomy AFX SRT/Turbo chassis. These motors have polished and diamond-trued commutators, just like the SG+/G3 motors.

The motor windings are epoxied and then dynamically balanced for the last word in performance.

Hot Stock can motors are available for tracks using low-power set wall packs and Spinner models for tracks with high-output power supplies.



BSRT Motor Magnets

BSRT Motor Magnets BSRT manufactures its own high-quality precision-machined motor magnets. If you're upgrading you motor it only makes sense to also improve the magnetic field it's to run in.

Ceramic, Polymer and Neodymium motor magnets are all available from BSRT.



BSRT Traction Magnets

BSRT Traction Magnets BSRT also manufactures its own high-quality precision-machined traction magnets. If you're upgrading you motor magnets you should also upgrade your chassis traction magnets.

Ceramic, Polymer and Neodymium traction magnets are all available from BSRT.



BSRT Tools & Lubricants

BSRT Tools Along with all of their go-fast parts, BSRT also manufactures its own line of high-quality precision-machined tools designed specifically for HO racing.

BSRT Precision Gears

BSRT also manufactures a full range of motor pinion and axle crown gears in a variety of sizes. A box stock Super G+Plus chassis has a 7 tooth motor pinion and a 25 tooth axle crown gear yielding a final gear ratio of 1:3.571. Reducing the number of teeth on the axle crown gear increases straight line speed at the expense of torque.

The gear ratio table above illustrates the various gearing possibilities available when using BSRT gears. Tomy Super G+Plus and Turbo/SRT chassis as well as the BSRT G3 chassis all have snap-in rear axles that make it extremely easy to experiment with various gear ratios by simply swapping out the entire rear axle assembly.

A Super G+Plus chassis with a box-stock motor will be faster with a 23 or 24 tooth crown gear on the rear axle. A "Hot Stock" motor can easily handle a 21 or 22 tooth crown gear upgrade. Really hot motors like the Spinner/Spud can use an 8 tooth pinion and any size of crown gear, depending on track length.

There is no single "ideal" gear ratio that will work well in all circumstances and on every track. You have to experiment to find the gearing that works best on your track and that suits your driving style. Reducing the crown gear one tooth at a time until you get the performance you want works best. Motor upgrades will almost always require a smaller crown gear.

Note: BSRT Nylatron, Delrin and Polymer plastics are much tougher than the stock injection-molded plastic gears that come from the factory. A BSRT Gear Puller and Press will make installation much easier.

Nylatron gears are a good choice for box-stock and hot stock motors, Delrin gears work well for Hot Stock cars with stronger traction magnets, while Polymer gears should be used for Polymer and Neo cars.

Note: Due to the tougher materials BSRT uses for their various lines of gears it's best to use matched sets of pinions and crown gears to avoid excessive wear. Polymer for example is a much harder plastic and if combined with a softer Nylatron gear will cause the Nylatron gear to wear very quickly.

If you have a variety of cars and gearing needs the Delrin line of pinions and crown gears is probably your best choice.
